This only applies to electric fence systems erected from December 2012 and to those systems which have been altered, added to or had energiser
changes since then.
An EFCOC is separate from an Electrical Certificate of Compliance (ECOC).
Provided there have been no changes to the electrical installation, the EFCOC is valid indefinitely and is transferable.
In Sectional Title properties, if the electric fence exists on common property, the compliance certificate is issued in favour of
the Body Corporate and it is not necessary for the Seller to obtain a new EFCOC.
The absence of an EFCOC is not a bar to transferring the property and unless a sale agreement provides otherwise, the Purchaser of the
property would be required to obtain an EFCOC if required.
