The gas installation regulations to the Occupation, Health & Safety Act require that every owner of property on which there is a gas installation
(e.g. gas stove, built-in fire place or heater) must have a Certificate of Conformity and any seller of the property must deliver a certificate
to the Purchaser prior to occupation or transfer, whichever is the earlier. Provided there have been no alterations to the gas installation, an
existing certificate will suffice.
It is customary for the Seller to obtain this certificate however the sale agreement can make this the Purchaser's obligation provided the
certificate is obtained before occupation and transfer.
